Manifesto Destiny
When you were a child, it seemed as though the general consensus was that you could grow up to do anything you wanted to do or be anything you wanted to be. One day, you would make your dreams come true.
Contemporary society has taught us, however, that at some point we reach a threshold; that once we get out of college, or have kids or buy a house, we're no longer allowed to chase after our dreams or follow our passions – as if doing so makes you irresponsible or abnormal.
The purveying – and cynical – belief is that you're supposed to settle, struggle to pay the bills and suffer doing something you hate in order to ensure your family's survival.
But how is that "living"?
How is this standard conducive to having a sense of purpose?
Even "success" is treated like something you're supposed to be embarrassed of or feel guilty about. It's wrong to be successful, and you have some growing up to do if you're still following your dreams.
Well, I believe Success is not a bad word.
Success is about overcoming adversity; it's about courage and perseverance; it's about realizing your goals and accomplishing the feat of living your life the way you want to live it – on your terms.
In fact, Success is the complete opposite of a bad word. It's the best word because it's about doing all of the above while maintaining your integrity and refusing to compromise your ethics. It's about Love, Compassion, and Joy; it's about helping others and making not just your life, but the lives of those around you, better.
Success is your positive contribution to society through the dedicated application of your fully-realized passions and skillfully-honed, God-given talents.
It is, ultimately, the act of lifting yourself up, and lifting others up with you, by becoming the best version of yourself.
Hardly something to be embarrassed of or feel guilty about.
I believe that even though you may have a mortgage, a family, and a job – even though you might be in your 30s, 40s, 50s or even your 60s – not only is following your dreams and your passions an okay thing to do, it's the only thing to do.
It's what you're here for, after all.
It's your purpose.
You have nothing to fear by following your dreams – the only thing you have to fear is what happens if you give up on them.
I believe that the most valuable thing you will ever have in your possession is your story. Because even though it's incredibly unique, there are many people in the world who will find it relevant to their own lives – people who need to hear what you have experienced; people who will be powerfully transformed by its truth and message.
And the beauty of it all is that every second of every minute of every day – no matter what wonderful or terrible things happen to you – your story gains in equity. Even when you finally decide to cash in on it, you never mortgage it. Its value never dwindles and in fact grows exponentially.
No matter how hard someone tries, your story is an asset that absolutely no one can ever take from you. And though it is irrevocable and irreplaceable, it is not irredeemable.

It's time to lift yourself up. It's time to lift up others. It's time to inspire Joy in the world; to share Love through the act of Compassion in all that you do.
It's time to begin the journey to fulfilling your Destiny.
